Turtleman Needs Volunteers

Turtleman is one of the longest standing and most loved local races. They also consistently have one of the best race-shirts

They need voluneers for this year’s event. If you’re racing it, cajole your friends into helping so you can have a better race. If you’re not racing it, please consider helping out so it can mantain it’s high quality. The folks organizing it are a great bunch and very pleasant to work with.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
•    Packet pick-up or Pre-Race Set-up (Friday, August 8th)
•    Body Marking/Race Day Chip Pick-up
•    Run Course Water Stations
•    Entrance/Exit of the swim
•    Finish Line
•    Post-Race Clean-up
•    Bike Course Marshals
•    Run Course Marshals

All volunteers will receive a great event t-shirt. Friday’s volunteers will receive pizza, and Saturday volunteers will have early morning Caribou coffee and treats at the park.

Spring Camp: April 20

We have a date set for the spring camp. We’re on for Sunday, April 20, 8:30am-4pm. We’ll be starting in the pool in Brooklyn Center, in the water at 8:30 until 10:30. From there, we move to a meeting room in Blaine City Hall for classroom, demonstrations, and discussion, from 11-4. I’ll be posting maps and addresses shortly.

Cost for the camp is $15, payable at the event. There’s no pre-registration, but please let us know if you plan to attend.

Discussions for the camp are occurring now on our mailing list. If you’re interested in attending, it’s a good idea to join the list. Updats appear there sooner than here, and interaction is more timely.
